Lesson 4- Bystander Intervention: About Us

BYSTANDER INTERVENTION
TRIGGER WARNING
The youth are given a trigger warning before we began, some of the videos can be very powerful and bring up numerous emotions. The students are told if they need to step out or put their head down that they can. The counselors are available to provide emotional support.
As a class we examined the various responses of the victim, the perpetrator, and the bystanders in each video. We have discussion around the emotional response of each participant. We discuss if the bystander interventions were appropriate, and how the youth would potentially handle the situation of being a bystander in a safe and healthy manner.
